Abstract

During the last decades, the process of uncontrolled urbanization and the concentration of the population in restrict areas, has brought us to a total incorrect environmental pattern in consequence of a development model, that takes us to a total degradation of natural resources and to a decadent life quality level. The cities are involved in this problem, since they are production and consumption centers. The accelerating populational increase causes higher assets production and as a consequence the production of solid residues, among them, inert material that comes from the great volume lost from building construction. The disposal of construction construction solid waste can provoke a negative esthetic effect, causing the degradation of the quality of fountainhead water and overload the urban drainage system, provoking the inlet blockage and water courses obstruction. In this panorama, the present work points out the problems, caracterizes them and discusses some measurements that can be taken to, at least, minimize them.
