Abstract

For presenting architectural design projects it is important to use adequate representation methods based on the geometrical projections. Stereographic representations are able to achieve spatial impressions. But static images can not transmit how a moving viewer will experience the architectural scene. An analysis of different moving types is the starting point to integrate dynamic representations in visualizations of architecture. Moving of the viewer and moving of the shown object have to be differentiated. Panoramic representations and sequences of images as movies are examples for the different movig types of the viewer of the architectural scene: looking around and moving forwards or backwards. For visualizing movements of the represented objects they have to be animated in the architectural scene by various animation techniques. Interactivity in the virtual scene offers an extended possibility of dynamic representations and achieves the simulation of real actions and real time movements. Examples created by students of architecture illustrated the various dynamic representations for visualizing their design projects in a dynamic way.
