Abstract

This work presents the results of destructive tests in beams of reinforced concrete using different materials and techniques of rehabilitation. The experiments were realized in the Laboratory of Materials and Structures at UERJ (State University of Rio de Janeiro). Twelve beams where made with less flexural steel then the theoretical necessary quantity, which six of them where rehabilitated - three using SikagroutÒ (composed by grout), three using SikacreteÒ (composed by extra fine active silica). In the other six beams, three were not rehabilitated to compare with the reinforcement efficiency results, and three were made in case of an eventual necessity. Three extra beams were made with the ideal flexural steel, in order to improve the analysis of the rehabilitation, making a sum of fifteen beams. Some features in this process includes the use of traditional setting of the rehabilitation concrete and the use of pure bond strength between the old common concrete layer and the new rehabilitation layer of the beam. In the tests were measured the vertical deflection and the development of the cracks, documented by graphics, pictures and tables. It was possible to testify the efficiency of the materials and techniques applied in the rehabilitation.
