Abstract

The architecture always refers to its cultural heritage, playing an important role in the character of the built environment. In a time of deep changes as in the present days, when patterns are modified ,and the critique of the modern movement repertoire is many times centered in banal architectural examples,it is appropriate to redeem –through the study of concepts and sites –the proposals for use of daylight in modernism. The intention is to inquire into the adequacy of these postures for the present debate which has the objective to obtain an efficient building, with the highest performance in the use of natural resources.Such critic judgement will contribute for the incorporation of the positive references in the contemporary architectural practices, contributing for the sustainable development structuring of the built environment.
